Insurance and eligibility of membership
You can use a WestWheels car as long as you join WestWheels Industrial and Provident Society and pay your annual membership.
You must also be eligible to use our insurance, provided to WestWheels through Moorcar. This states that:
The insured Vehicle shall not be let out on hire to or be driven by:
a) Hirers have held a valid UK or EU driving licence for less than 2 years.
c) Persons who have been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/or have had their driving licence suspended or been given 6 penalty points. If you are unsure, please ask.
c) Persons who have a mental or physical defect or infirmity and have been defined as unfit to drive by DVLA.
d) Persons who have had insurance declined and/or refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had their insurance cancelled bu any Motor Insurer.
There is no minimum or maximum age limit.
The insurance cover has a £250 excess, which means you pay the first £250 of any damage. Windscreen excess is also £250. Some members purchase individual insurance to cover this insurance excess.
Personal effects are not covered by WestWheels insurance.
